Collection, sizes and colors

How do I determine the right size for my new Tablecloth or table runner?

We recommend an overhang of at least 20 cm on all sides of the table. For large tables, 25 or even 30 cm is even better. The larger the table, the nicer a generous overhang. When determining the size, it is wise to take into account the shrinkage of the fabric (see the specifications of the respective fabric quality). Also, if you have chairs with armrests, we recommend keeping that generous overhang. An overhang that is too small does not look attractive and that the Tablecloth leaning on the armrests of the chairs is not a problem at all. Still in doubt? Feel free to send an email to

Can I have a Tablecloth or a Table runnercustom or custom shape?

Of course you can, Cottona is strong in customization. Rectangular, square, round or oval Bespoke tablecloths order easily directly online. If you have a Tablecloth in a different shape, e.g. asymmetrical or triangular, this is also possible. We will then ask you to make a paper mold of your tabletop.

To what extent must I take shrinkage into account? Tablecloths and Table runners?

Like all other textiles, table textiles can also shrink during cleaning. The degree of shrinkage depends mainly on the composition of the fabric. When choosing the right size, it is wise to take this into account.

As an indication, we use the following shrinkage percentages:

Glamour collection: 0-3%

Outdoor collection: 0-3%.

Damask collection: 3-8%

Cotton collection: 0-2% in width and 2-5% in length 

Linen collection: 0-3% in width and 2-7% in length

Natural linen: 1-3% in width and 2-5% in length  
                    
So our advice is: take these percentages into account and preferably order a rug that is just a little larger to accommodate the shrinkage.

Can you make any size from one piece of fabric?

At our custom Tablecloths extremely large sizes, a seam is sometimes unavoidable. If the fabric width does not allow us to make your custom rug in one piece, we make a nice flat angel seam on the sides. We never make a seam in the middle across the table. In most cases, the seams fall into the hanging part of the cloth and are virtually invisible. We always ask in advance if you agree to this.

How exact are the sizes of your table textiles?

We make our products very precisely. But because it is handwork and because most of them are products made of natural materials, the sizes can always differ slightly from the ordered sizes. But don't worry, the deviation is never more than 2.5%.

How are the products of Cottona finished?

Feature of all rectangular and square Tablecloths and Table runners of Cottona is the finish with luxurious pictorial hem three inches wide. This hem has a double wrap with mitered corners, which ensures that the rug hangs nicely without curling corners. (See the various photos on the site for the finish). Round and oval Tablecloths and Napkins have a standard hem of 1 cm wide.

Can I also have my ordered items embroidered or printed by you?

Unfortunately we cannot take care of that for you. However, we can - at your request - send your order to an embroidery or printing company of your choice that will further process the material.

I want to reorder a product in the same color, is that possible?

Of course you can. However, it is important to keep in mind that a slight color deviation from your previous order is possible. Therefore we advise - if possible - to order all products at once (Napkins together with the Tablecloth). We always ensure that a complete order from
the same dye bath is made.

How colorfast are the fabrics of Cottona?

Discoloration, like shrinking and creasing, for example, is a basic and unavoidable property of textiles. Natural materials such as cotton and linen are more sensitive to discoloration than synthetic materials. Dark colors are more sensitive as light colors. Washing, use and exposure to (sun) light will cause our products to lose some of their color intensity. For outdoor applications or, for example, in a greenhouse with a lot of direct sunlight, we recommend our Outdoor collection. That is made of UV-resistant synthetic fibers and has a good color fastness. But even for that material, prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause the fabrics to fade slightly.

My table is wider than the width of the Table protector (140 cm). What now?

No problem. With large round or square tables, the width of our Table protector is not sufficient to cover the table top. A Table protector may safely consist of two parts, it is just a matter of cutting to size and putting them together. 

For round tables in listed sizes, choose the following Table protector:

Table 150-160 round: Table protector 250x140 cm

Table 170-180 round: Table protector 300x140 cm

Table 190-200 round: Table protector 350x140 cm

Table 225 round: Table protector 450x140 cm

Table 250 round: Table protector 500x140 cm

From the mentioned size you can cut two half circles that together cover your table top

I find it difficult to get a good picture of the fabrics, is it possible to receive a fabric sample?

Yes, that is possible. We will send you up to 6 fabric samples free of charge. If you send an e-mail with your address details and the desired color(s), we will send you the samples as soon as possible. You can send an e-mail to customer service@cottona.com.

Washing and maintenance

How to wash the products of Cottona wash best?

- Sort laundry by color and washing instructions

- Fill the washing drum to half maximum

- Use the gentle cycle for delicate laundry

- Preferably use a liquid detergent

- Wash as briefly as possible at the lowest possible temperature for best color retention

- Remove the product from the machine as soon as possible and hang it out so that creasing is limited 

Help, a stain! What is the best way to remove it?

The important tip with all stains is to treat them as soon as possible. A dried-in stain is much more difficult to remove than one that has just been made. We recommend using your Cottona-item immediately and keep it wet until it can be washed. Ordering, payment and delivery

Right of withdrawal

You have the right, within a period of 14 days*, to revoke
to withdraw from the contract without giving reasons. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us in writing of your decision to withdraw from the contract. You can use the withdrawal form for this purpose but you are not obliged to do so.

Goods can only be returned if they show no signs of use and are not washed or soiled. Goods should be returned with sufficient postage and (to the extent possible) in their original packaging to:

Effects of Revocation:

When you revoke the agreement, you will receive all payments you have made up to that point, including delivery costs, back from us within 14 days. Only the costs for the return shipment from your home to us are for your own account. We will wait to refund you until we have received the goods back. Unless otherwise agreed we will use the same means of payment you used for the original payment for the refund.

 

Exception:

The right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for the delivery of goods that are not prefabricated and based on individual
specifications of the customer are custom-made.

How can I return an item?

We make every effort to provide you with a perfect product. Nevertheless, if you are not satisfied with the delivery, you have the right to return the items within fourteen days of receipt. If you want to use the right of return, please send an email to customer service@cottona.com.

Goods cannot be returned if:

- the trial period of fourteen days* has expired.

- they have been custom-made especially for you.

- they show signs of use, are washed or soiled.

Please return goods (if possible) in their original packaging.

Please fill out the enclosed packing slip and send it along with your return shipment. This way we have all your information together and can ensure a quick handling. When you revoke the agreement, we will refund all payments you have made up to that point, including delivery costs, within 14 days. The cost of return shipping from your home to us is at your own expense. We advise you to keep the shipping receipt of your return shipment. Your package is always traceable via Track & Trace. We wait with refunding until we have received the goods back. 

Unless otherwise agreed, we will use the same means of payment you used for the original payment for the refund. The right of withdrawal for consumers can be found here.

Can I use the Tablecloths from Cottona also buy in stores?

No, the products of Cottona are exclusively available through the webshops of Cottona available.

Can I exchange my order?

Unfortunately, for administrative reasons, it is not possible to exchange or offset orders with each other. We would therefore like to ask you to make the
return the ordered product and place a new order instead. We will refund the purchase price of your returned product after receiving and verifying your return. 

My payment has failed. How can I complete it?

It can happen that your payment fails for whatever reason. If we see this in the system, we will send you an email with payment links, with which you can still pay for your order. You can also choose to pay in advance. You then transfer the money to us yourself and after crediting it to our account,
we will ship your order within one or two business days.

Can I pay afterwards?

Yes, at Cottona you can also pay afterwards. To do this, in the payment process, choose Klarna, a method that allows you to pay online afterwards. How it works: If you choose Klarna, you provide your name, address, phone number and date of birth in the payment process. This is followed by a brief credit check by Klarna. If approved, we will ship your order within the usual period and you will receive the payment request via Klarna. You have 2 weeks to pay for your order. For this service we charge 2.95 euros.



How much are the shipping costs?

For shipping within the Netherlands we use one rate, regardless of the number of items you order. This rate is € 4.95 per order.

Orders over € 200,00 will be shipped for FREE.

What happens if I am not home when my order is delivered?

"Not at home during delivery? PostNL will no longer leave a paper bill as of July 1, 2022. Via track & trace, you will always know where your package is. Also keep an eye on your e-mail."

Can I have my order delivered to another address?

Yes, this is possible. To do this, you can enter a different
delivery address.

When will I receive my order?

Standard sizes ordered and paid for before 5 p.m., we ship the next working day. Custom sizes we ship within two business days of receiving your payment. PostNL handles the delivery of all shipments for us and usually delivers within one business day in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Can I return my order if I am not satisfied with it?

Yes, you may return our standard products within 14 days*. You can use the return form for this purpose. Upon receipt of your return and a quality check, we will refund the purchase price via the same payment method you used to make your purchase.

Please note: Custom made products are not returnable as they are made especially for you and are otherwise unsalable for us.

We do not take back any products:

- If trial period of fourteen days has expired;

- if they are custom-made especially for you;

- if they show signs of use, are washed or soiled.

Will I be notified when my order is on its way?
