Cottona is a Dutch brand specializing in high quality made to measure table linen. Since 2009, we have been designing and producing luxury tablecloths and napkins that are used by both private customers and professionals around the world.

In our atelier, craftsmanship and customization are at the heart of everything we do. Each tablecloth is made entirely to measure, in any desired size and in rectangular, square, round or oval shapes. For unique or exceptional tables, we work with custom templates to ensure absolute precision. Matching napkins are available in any size and can be personalized with refined embroidery of a name, text or logo.

Our collection consists of carefully selected high quality fabrics such as Damask, Plain Cotton, Hospitality Linen, Pure Linen, Satin Shiny Chic and durable Outdoor fabrics. This allows us to offer a suitable solution for every setting, from everyday use at home to fine dining environments and intensive professional use.

It takes shrinkage, drop length and proportions into account, so you can be confident of a perfect fit without any uncertainty. Our story

  • 2009

    The beginning

    Cottona was founded in 2009 from a shared passion for textiles, interior design and meaningful moments at the table. Founders Marc Beumers and Mieke Bos noticed there was a lack of high quality and beautifully designed table linen. In most stores, the choice was limited to a single colour, one shape and a few standard sizes. With their background in textiles and communication, they launched tafellakens.com. From the belief that every table is unique and every table moment is personal, a concept was created in which made to measure and quality have been central from the very first
    order.

  • 2011

    Crossing borders

    Cottona quickly expanded internationally. With the launch of a German webshop, the concept was introduced beyond the Netherlands and successfully proven. During this period, Cottona received a Thuiswinkel Award based on genuine customer appreciation. Instead of relying on traditional quality labels, Cottona chose transparency through real customer experiences. This approach helped build trust and credibility at an early stage, long before online reviews became standard.

  • 2014

    Building the brand

    Cottona evolved from a webshop into a distinctive brand. The name Cottona was introduced and established, along with matching domains and channels. This marked the foundation for further international growth. In addition to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, markets such as Italy and Spain soon followed. Cottona developed into a recognizable brand for high quality made to measure table linen, with a clear identity and international ambition.

  • 2020

    Focus

    With continued growth came the need for sharper focus. The owners decided to fully commit to Cottona. Mieke Bos left her position as a university lecturer to dedicate herself entirely to the brand. Investments were made in a new atelier where production, customer service and marketing come together. This step created more control over quality, increased flexibility and supported further growth, forming the foundation for ongoing professionalization.

  • 2024

    One platform

    As the company continued to grow, the need for a future proof platform became clear. In 2024, all international webshops were brought together under one domain, cottona.com. With six languages and an improved user experience, Cottona now serves customers worldwide. This step strengthened brand consistency and reinforced its position in both the private and professional market. In 2025, this was recognized with a silver DIA Award in the e commerce category.

  • 2026

    Personalisation

    Personalised table linen was introduced from the desire to make table moments even more personal. From a name or logo embroidered on a napkin to a text or monogram on a placemat or apron. In the atelier, craftsmanship and personal wishes come together, resulting in table linen that perfectly matches each style and occasion. This ensures that every table setting is not only stylish, but also personal and lasting.
